Programme Overview
From experience to expansion, built on a proven journeyThe Bridget Aguoru Women in Business Programme (BAWBP) is a flagship initiative of the Dr. Kingsley Aguoru Foundation, created in honour of Bridget Aguoru and her remarkable entrepreneurial journey.
Her progression from small-scale petty trading to operating a supermarket represents the core philosophy of this programme, growth driven by real experience, persistence, and practical understanding of business.
The programme recognises that meaningful support must be based on first-hand business experience. Women who have already started and managed their businesses are best positioned to identify what is limiting their growth.
BAWBP is designed to respond to these realities by providing targeted interventions that directly address identified bottlenecks.
About the Programme
Supporting growth through real business experienceMany support programmes focus on business ideas. However, without practical experience, needs are often based on assumptions.
BAWBP takes a different approach by supporting women who are already in business and understand their operational challenges. The programme prioritises clarity, accountability, and practical outcomes that lead to measurable business improvement.
Driving measurable and sustainable growthThe programme aims to strengthen existing businesses by addressing clearly defined challenges, improving operational capacity, and enabling long-term sustainability.
All support is designed to produce tangible outcomes and responsible use of resources.
Targeted interventions for business advancementSupport may include equipment, operational improvements, working capital tied to defined use, or other clearly identified needs necessary to unlock business growth.
Each intervention is linked to a specific purpose and expected outcome.
